My Old Ass | Review by: Gal Balaban

Maisy Stella gives a fun performance an a sometimes outrageous, sometimes charmingly awkward coming-of-age comedy, though it could’ve utitlized the titular concept of her character talking with her older self more, as Aubrey Plaza is a scene-stealer whenever she appears.

Though the protagonist is enjoyable and the film is always sweet, it also falls into some tired coming-of-age cliches, including with the central romance. Still, it’s got heart and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, even if its runtime isn’t consistent with the boldness or laughs; it’s raunchy enough to work as a comedy even if it doesn’t trademark anything new in its genre.
